Krome’s Next Project Revealed! Microsoft Debuts “Game Room” at CES
8th January 2010 - LAS VEGAS – During the opening keynote address for the 2010 International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer and Entertainment & Devices President Robbie Bach revealed the upcoming Krome-developed Game Room for Xbox LIVE Windows PC.
Scheduled to launch in the spring of 2010, Game Room replicates the old-school look, sound, and feel of a retro video game Arcade. Players will open up a brand new social environment for their Avatar to explore, where they can personalize their own game room by arranging cabinets, and decorate each room with themes and animated mascots.
At launch, Game Room will bring players a library of 30 original arcade and console classics from Activision, Atari, Intellivision, Konami, and others, including Centipede, Asteroids Deluxe, and Super Cobra shown in their original cabinets. Over the next three years, more than 1000 games will be released on Game Room.
For less than the price of a movie ticket, titles bought on Game Room can be purchased once and played on your platform of choice -- Xbox LIVE or Windows PC. If consumers prefer to play on one platform, they can purchase individual games for either Xbox 360 or Windows PC at a lower price or even pay to play a single game, just like in the old arcades.

Prior to its partnership on Game Room, Krome had developed Scene It? Box Office Smash for Microsoft – a movie trivia game incorporating players Xbox 360 Avatars.
